Red Sea Global of Saudi Arabia to run Luxury Shebara Hotel Brand

Saudi Arabia's state-supported developer, Red Sea Global (RSG), has revealed its plans to run its exclusive hotel brand named Shebara.

The debut Shebara resort is slated for a summer 2024 launch, marking RSG's first owned and managed resort within their Red Sea mega tourism project. Situated on Saudi Arabia's Sheybarah Island, this 73-room resort will showcase overwater and beach villas styled as steel orbs. Access to this exotic locale will be via a 45-minute boat journey from the mainland or a quick 20-minute seaplane flight.

Embracing sustainable practices, the resort will rely on solar energy from its specific solar farm. In fact, for the initial phase of this tourism venture, RSG has established five solar farms with a staggering 760,000 photovoltaic panels in place.

This announcement comes shortly after introducing the Thuwal Private Retreat, another of RSG's island getaway concepts.
Shebara joins a distinguished list of hospitality names in the Red Sea destination, which counts a St. Regis, a Ritz Carlton Reserve, and a forthcoming Six Senses resort among its ranks, set to open its doors later this month.

By its final phase in 2030, this Red Sea endeavor will feature 50 resorts, nearly 8,000 hotel accommodations, and over 1,000 residential units spread across 22 islands and six mainland areas.

RSG, entirely possessed by the state's Public Investment Fund (PIF), is also at the forefront of the Amaala mega tourism project. This is aligned with Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030 strategy, aiming to attract an impressive 150 million tourists by the end of the decade.
