Lucid Group launches first overseas manufacturing hub in Saudi Arabia's King Abdullah economic city.

Lucid's AMP-2 Plant targets annual production of 5,000 cars, with plans for 150,000 vehicles.

Lucid commits to delivering up to 100,000 vehicles to the Saudi government over the next decade.

Lucid Group, supported by the Public Investment Fund (PIF), launched its inaugural overseas manufacturing hub in the King Abdullah Economic City in Saudi Arabia on Wednesday.
This AMP-2 plant is Lucid's second Advanced Manufacturing Plant and its debut on the international scene. It's poised to roll out Lucid's innovative electric cars for the local Saudi market and other global destinations.

This move aligns with the Saudi Green Initiative's goal of ensuring that 30% of the Kingdom's new car sales are electric by 2030.

Lucid Group's CEO and CTO Peter Rawlinson expressed, "It's a landmark day as we unveil Saudi Arabia's premiere car manufacturing unit, producing our top-tier electric cars. That underscores our commitment to supporting Saudi Arabia's vision for an eco-friendly, diverse economy."

The AMP-2 initiative gained substantial backing from entities such as the Ministry of Investment, the Saudi Industrial Development Fund, and KAEC.

Lucid commented, "As we stride towards Saudi Arabia's Vision 2030, our unit will set the foundation for the nation's electric car industry. Thanks to the Saudi Government's backing, we're spearheading local expertise in the tech realm. We eagerly anticipate delivering vehicles crafted in Saudi Arabia to local and international customers."

AMP-2 has initiated semi-knocked-down production and targets an annual output of 5,000 cars. The primary phase involves assembling Lucid Air vehicle sets pre-crafted at Lucid's AMP-1 Manufacturing Hub in Casa Grande, Arizona.

By mid-decade, Lucid envisions ramping up AMP-2's production capabilities, targeting an additional annual capacity of 150,000 vehicles.

Its strategic placement near Jeddah augments the burgeoning domestic supply network, driving local supplier demand and long-term expansion.

Faisal Sultan, Lucid Group's Vice President and Managing Director for the Middle East, stated, "This is a monumental day for Lucid, marking our footprint in Saudi Arabia's historic journey and economic progression. Earlier, we were ecstatic to showcase our premier electric vehicle, Lucid Air, to Saudi consumers."

He added, "Today's launch signifies the start of our assembly operations for the top-tier Lucid Air. Having AMP-2 in KAEC, alongside our AMP-1 in Arizona, equips us to seamlessly honor the recent pact with Saudi Arabia's government to supply up to 100,000 vehicles over a decade."
PIF Governor Yasir Al-Rumayyan graced the inauguration ceremony.
